July 21st UPDATE: The 'Event Details' page was updated with all the specs about the race.

June 5th UPDATE: There is no $1,000,000 prize and I don't know about the 'sex with el_jefe' prize. Thank you for all the links to this site, it's going to be a fun race. This race is only open to those attending DEFCON. This is not an open race, if you aren't going to DEFCON you might look foolish entering this contest. This site is always updated, check back soon.

May 24th UPDATE: tommEE has aquired the 2 time clocks neccessary for the race and all is so fargone without a hitch. We would like to get as many people racing and/or lunching with us. If you have a website, link to us (http://moloch.org/cannonball). We should have a bunch of media covering the race and we will be bringing video equipment as well. The more cameras we have will enable us to make a great video afterwards. If you have any questions about the race mail them to cannonball[at]moloch.org. We will be getting the gang togther hopefully the night before the race to show Cannonball Run and Cannonball II. It sure is going to be a time to remember, or not...

With respect to the DEFCON Caravan and Deathrace2k, some of us want to break the rules and get to Las Vegas fast. Why? Quick to Vegas, Quick to Drink. Therefore, we have developed the DEFCON Cannonball Run. It is a race against time. Since we will not encourage speeding or reckless driving, you are on your own when it comes to how you will beat the clock. Check out the rules below.

  1. All racers will start at the same starting  location.
  2. The race will be held on Thursday  August 1st 2002.
  3. We will depart from Redondo Beach, CA.
  4. Racers will be 5 minutes apart.
  5. Racers will punch into time-clock upon departure.
  6. Each racer and passenger will pay $5 entry into  the Cannonball Run.
  7. Everyone will sign a waiver, protecting our ass  for promoting this behavior.
  8. Racers will punch-in at the Alexis Park with a designated  DCR person.
  9. Money collected from each racer will be applied  to the bar for the winners.
  10. No tag-backs, electricity or time-outs.

news: We will have a sign-up for the teams soon. Look for it
